Distinctly different from Digha, the other sea beach in West Bengal’s kitty, Mandarmani will be cherished for its serenity and its beach resorts. Digha beach and Mandarmani are in close proximity.

How to get there: From Kolkata/ Calcutta : Buses including Calcutta State Transport Corporation (CSTC) or WBSTC buses for Digha, leave from Esplanade/ Dharmatala almost every hour. The only air-conditioned bus leaves at 7AM.
From Kharagpur : Take a bus from Kharagpur main bus stand., adjacent to Kharagpur Railway station. Buses for Digha are plying frequently.
Prior-booking : not needed
Time taken : 4 hours , Ticket cost : Rs 100.00-160.00
Bus drops you at Chawalkhola. Take an auto-rickshaw or a taxi to Mandarmani.
OR : Take your car, sick of city traffic and take the plunge. Head for Mandarmani !

Where to stay: hotels and resorts namely Sonar Bangla, Sana Beach Resort, Rose Valley, Candlewood Park, Eco Villa, Digante and Hotel Bijoy .
Otherwise you can put up in Digha, which is just 30 minutes drive away from Mandarmani.

Parting note : Try to avoid driving on the beach. Your car, especially if its a hatchback, may get stuck. And if you drive on the beach, the local ecology pays the price, the hard way !
