Mukutmanipur is a palce West Bengal's Bankura district. This town is close to Jharkhand - Bengal border and is located at the confluence of two rivers called Kumari and Kangsabati (Kasai).
Attractions :
This town is home to a lake and a large dam. The area around the lake is an ideal picnic spot. Mukutmanipur is arguably the most popular picnic site in West Bengal. Bangopalpur Reserve Forest id close by and a perfect destination for the people who love flora and fauna. Take a trip to the deer park or take a walk through the Sal forest on the plateau.
The ruins of ancient town can also be seen near Mukutmanipur. You can also venture out to Banpukuria, Ranibandh or Mathgoda for a rendezvous with nature.
How to visit Mukutmanipur :
A journey of 250 kms by road from Kolkata, 55 kms from Bankura, 100 kms from Durgapur.
If you are visiting from Kolkata, get into Purulia Express from Howrah station. Otherwise you can go by Howrah -Chakradharpur passenger train. Get off at Bishnupur and get a bus from there to Mukutmanipur .
If you are visiting from Kharagpur, buses are available from Kharagpur main bus stand.
